When it’s finally date night, you’re cuddled up on the couch with popcorn in hand, but you can’t figure out what to watch. We’ve all been there…it’s a real mood killer.

Instead of spending half the date scrolling through Netflix or Amazon, we put together some great movie recs that will keep the romance blooming and the laughs coming.

  1. (500) Days of Summer
Why It’s Perfect for Date Night: Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are an adorable, hilarious couple #relationshipgoals…at least up until Summer (Zooey Deschanel) suddenly dumps Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Their chemistry lights up the screen and pulls you into a tale of down-to-earth, charming romance that’s as realistic as it is aspirational.
  2. Friends with Benefits
Why It’s Perfect for Date Night: What happens when you won’t admit that you want that no-strings-attached night to turn into a meaningful relationship? Ask Jamie (Mila Kunis) and Dylan (Justin TImberlake). From casual friends with benefits to grand romantic gestures, Jamie and Dylan takes us on a comedic interpretation of the journey from no strings to many many many strings.
  3. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Why It’s Perfect for Date Night: For those who want to shake up date night, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood… is the perfect option. Directed by screen legend, Quentin Tarantino, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood is a phenomenal movie that’s comedic, heavy, artistic, action-packed, and gruesome all at the same time. Be warned, you’ll never see the ending coming…
  4. The Vow
Why It’s Perfect for Date Night: The Vow takes “for better or worse” to the nth degree in
the sweetest, most heart-breaking way possible. After a car crash leaves Paige (Rachel McAdams) in a coma with no recollection of her recent marriage to Leo (Channing Tatum), Leo does everything he can to remind Paige of their life together and rebuild their marriage. Fair warning, if marriage is the white elephant in your relationship, you may want to skip this one for now…
  5. Poetic Justice
Why It’s Perfect for Date Night: Moving on is always hard, but even harder when your boyfriend is killed. Dealing with the grief of losing her boyfriend, Justice (Janet Jackson) copes by writing poetry. While on a road trip to a convention with her best friend, best friend’s boyfriend, and his friend, Lucky (Tupac Shakur), Justice grows close with Lucky. Can Justice open herself up to love again? We sure hope so.

Which one will you start with? Better yet, watch them all!
