On a hot August day in 2023, my 8-year-old daughter and I drove to Biloxi, MS, thrilled for a dinosaur adventure. I was just as excited as she was, as my love for the stegosaurus goes way back! My daughter’s enthusiasm confirmed I’d made the right choice in attending Jurassic Quest.
As we walked through the archway into the event, we were magically transported into the Jurassic period. Jurassic Quest features various experiences that engage children and surprise adults with learning opportunities. The event was well laid out, offering plenty of room to enjoy all activities at our own pace. This self-guided event allows you and your children to engage only in the activities that interest them, which is perfect for parents unsure of how their little ones might react to the dinosaurs.
The event included a large exhibit area filled with realistic, life-sized dinosaurs, exhibiting movement and simulated scenes from the wild. Learning was easy with informative placards by each dinosaur, allowing for quick reads or deeper dives via QR codes. This section featured a staffed area showcasing actual and replica fossils, enhancing the educational experience. The second half of the exhibit was dedicated to interactive fun! Children can ride a variety of dinosaurs and get all their energy out within multiple dinosaur-themed bounce houses. There are designated areas for younger children to enjoy. Children could also engage in dinosaur-themed craft activities, including digging for a replica fossil to take home. Be sure to catch the two interactive shows with the Jurassic Quest dino trainers: the Baby Dino Encounter and the Raptor Training Session. These shows beautifully blend learning and fun, allowing the audience to assist the dinosaur trainers. Fun can be had for all ages!
As you plan your Jurassic Quest trip, there are two ticket designations: standard and ultimate. Participants aged 2 and older require a ticket. The standard ticket grants entry and viewing of the event, while the ultimate ticket provides access to interactive rides, bounce houses, and games geared for ages 2-10. If unsure whether your child will want to participate in the ultimate ticket activities, you can upgrade from the standard at the event. I recommend attending either Friday late afternoon or the later in the day on weekend dates. There was ample space for navigating strollers and wheelchairs, plus areas to sit and rest if needed. Snacks were available for purchase at the event. If your child has sensory needs, consider bringing headphones or other assistive tools, as the environment can be stimulating. Jurassic Quest’s gift shop has an array of fun dinosaur-themed souvenirs, so budget wisely for any treasures your children may want.
Overall, our adventure at Jurassic Quest in Biloxi was a memorable and enriching experience for my daughter and me. The combination of education, excitement, and hands-on interaction with life-sized dinosaurs made it a fantastic day out. Whether you’re a dinosaur enthusiast or just looking for a fun family activity, Jurassic Quest offers something for everyone. With its thoughtful layout and variety of activities, it’s an excellent outing for families seeking both entertainment and learning. Gather your little dino lovers, plan your visit, and get ready for a roaring good time!
