Power Book IV: Force’s Tommy Egan: Top Five Craziest Moments
Are you ready to meet the Grim Reaper? On February 6, the long-anticipated premiere of Power Book IV: Force will finally drop on The STARZ App. We just cannot wait to see Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) back in action in the Power universe!
To prepare, we’ve decided to revisit Tommy’s Top 5 craziest moments. Take a walk down memory lane with us! And remember, you can catch Power Book IV: Force on The STARZ App – only $5/month for 6 months for a limited time!
Warning: MAJOR spoilers ahead!
Moment #1:
Holly Meets Her Match
Remember Holly? We almost forgot about Tommy’s first love interest, Holly Weaver (Lucy Walters), the waitress-turned-gangsta from Seasons 1 through 3 of Power. For a while there, we definitely thought that Tommy would give up anything for his fiery sweetheart.
But, Holly makes one tragic mistake. She gets between Tommy and Ghost! In a little too deep, Holly hires a hit on Ghost and Tariq without telling Tommy. When he finds out, Tommy loses his cool and strangles Holly to death in a fit of rage. That death scene was brutal!
Moment #2:
Undercover Tommy
After Holly’s death, Tommy turns to the dark side–or is that just what he wants us to think? Tommy infiltrates the Serbian Mafia and earns the respect of one villain we love to hate, Milan (Callan Mulvey). Crazy with grief, Tommy becomes more ruthless and independent from the St. Patrick family. That is…,until he’s not.
Little does Milan know, Tommy would never betray Ghost for another kingpin. With Tommy as his man on the inside, Ghost blindsides Milan, reclaiming his spot at the top of the NYC food chain. Were y’all as surprised as we were?!?
Moment #3:
Bye, Bye Tony
Like most hardened gangsters, Tommy has a tumultuous family life. His father, Tony Teresi (William Sadler), abandoned Tommy and his mother when he was just a little baby. In Season 4 though, Tommy decides to find the truth and unearths Tony’s identity as his birth-father. He visits Tony in prison, and the two bond over their shared involvement in the NYC drug scene.
But, this father-son relationship was doomed from the start. Tony wiggles his way out of prison by agreeing to act as an FBI informant. Nothing gets past Ghost though, who soon discovers Tony’s scheme. Even though Tony only snitched on Ghost, Tommy shoots his father in cold blood as punishment for this betrayal. Let’s count that as another crazy murder by Tommy!
Moment #4:
Dead as a…
Has anyone escaped death more than Tommy? True to his name, Tommy takes other people to death’s door–except in Season 1 of Power Book II: Ghost. In a surprise cameo, Tommy comes back to NYC to clear his name and to punish Tasha (Naturi Naughton) for pinning Ghost’s murder on him.
To protect his mother, Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) agrees to help Tommy stage his own death. Of course, Tommy wasn’t fazed by the suggestion. He steals his mom’s car and purposefully crashes into a gas pump, throwing the FBI off his trail. C’mon, only someone as unhinged as Tommy would ever try that.
Moment #5:
Chicago-bound
The last moment on this list is a special one. It’s Tommy’s decision to start all over again in Chicago in Power Book IV: Force! After everything that Tommy has been through, you would think that he would retire from the drug game and disappear into anonymity. But, that’s not the Tommy we know and love! As the trailer indicates, Tommy wastes no time throwing himself into Chicago’s underground crime. Will he survive this time? We’ll have to watch and see!
Is Tommy a force to be reckoned with? We’ll leave that for you to judge. Make sure to catch the Power Book IV: Force premiere on The STARZ App on February 6!
Whatever you want to watch, if it’s on The Starz App, it’s probably pretty good.
With a limited time offer of $5/month for 6 months, there’s no better time to start watching these shows than now.
